An active member has taken an interest in the Summer Program by sending out a request for First Day School volunteer teachers.
She has volunteered for one First Day School session in May where she "organized conflict resolution activities" and will address the Quaker peace testimony.
The following Sunday, another volunteer will share her leading to go to Kenya and will tell our First Day Students a little about that. She may choose to talk about "what love can do" and what that means in terms of reaching out to Quakers who may be different from us or any other ideas.
The First Day after that, another will share her leading to eat and cook vegan food (and will probably bring a sample!) This might be an opportunity to reflect on the environment or queries about the earth and/or simplicity.
That is what we have for now. The RE Committee is actively seeking volunteers to "Share Their Bliss" with the First Day School!

Welcome to Quaker Kids - Patapsco Friends Meeting's First Day School page
In Fall 2009, the Quaker Kids heard stories from FGC's "Faith & Play" and discussed the parables from Jerome Berryman's "Godly Play". We have just started a Quaker-Of-The-Month history project.
We have a small group so we are flexible and we've had a lot of fun exploring ideas and projects. We invite anyone to be a volunteer teacher (alongside a second teacher), and we welcome new students to join us as we explore what it means to be a Quaker Kid in a Quaker Meeting!
Enjoy our site!
